Good. I'm also cc'ing the box admins - anyone of us can help in the transfer. Shall we first announce it on squeak-dev? It probably means that we want to lock the swiki for a couple of hours while we are transferring it, might be polite to tell the community that beforehand. Removing an article from people..org

hey! I'm writing a new article, and accidentally pressed Enter when the default action is "Post". I want to finish the article before posting! is there a way to remove it, edit it, and then post it finished? please! I do have a copy of the article, so if you can just remove it, I'll take care of the rest. the article is "SqueakNOS: Building, changing, booting and installing." thanks a lot! gera

Transition to mailman complete

Hi, All lists are now migrated to mailman. The ezmlm on discuss.sqf.org thus could be retired soon. Ahh... and I have been told that Sympa is so much better then Mailman (http://www.sympa.org/). just kiddin ;-) Marcus

Mailinglist NewCompiler

Hi, With Mathiue Suen now beeing payed by ESUG for working in the New Compiler, we need a mailinglist (besides him, we have three Studens here using it already for their research). So I was just in the process of setting up a list here at SCG (there are e.g. already lists for the bytecode transformation extensions 'ByteSurgeon' and the Partial Behavioral Reflection Framework 'Geppetto' at SCG that use (parts of) the new compiler...). But then I think it would be better for this project to be hosted more open (not SCG internal), so I will set it up at lists.squeakfoundation.org instead. Hi, The installation of SqueakSource on source.squeakfoundation.org needs to be updated to a newer version, We (Andrian and me) can do this. Q: - Is there anyone "officially" responsible for this setup that we need to ask? - We need to know a little to do it, is there a docuement describing the setup (VNC?) Marcus

Box-Admins Team Report for June, 2006

The box-admins team is reponsible for seeing that the community shared server is maintained and setting up any new features to be hosted on that server. In June the box-admins team helped the website team a little in trying to get a Pier installation going for a new SqueakFoundation website. There was a problem with the rsync backup system but Cees sorted it out. We setup a new SVN repository for Damien Cassou to use for the development of a new book on Seaside. We setup Matej Kosik with access to maintain the Debian repository for Squeak in the FTP site. I want to thank the community for the monetary support needed to fund these boxes and remind them that the bills continue to appear and that you can currently contribute to the hosting bills by going to http://discuss.squeakfoundation.org/ and clicking on the 'donate' button at the top right. Note that a donation here may be used for other Squeak Foundation services including but not limited to development, development infrastructure, and promotion of Squeak. The services being hosted have continued to grow and include (but are not limited to): http://www.squeak.org/ SqueakMap - http://map.squeak.org/ http://ftp.squeak.org/ http://lists.squeakfoundation.org/ http://discuss.squeakfoundation.org/ http://source.squeakfoundation.org/ http://map.squeak.org/ https://svn.squeak.org/ (new subversion repository, not yet populated) and DNS services for squeak.org and squeakfoundation.org domain names. Michael Rueger has been given access to the website account to be able to add updates to the update stream

At Marcus' and Michael's request I have added Michael's public ssh key to the website authorized_keys list allowing him access to the website account on squeak.org and therefore access to the FTP site so that he can make changes to the update stream. Ken
