[Newbies] Opening a Changes file with another image

Hi all,

We have an image that won't open anymore...and being the terrific
professionals that we are, have no other version of the source code than
what might be in the changes file!  Is it possible to "open up" a changes
file with a different image and see what you can recover?

Just wondering...
