If you do this more often, you don't have to do it manually.

E.g. when I press my keyboard shortcut for screenshot, it saves the file to a Dropbox folder and puts its public URL in the clipboard. Then I paste the URL into my mail. So it's press key - select screen region - press another key, which for me is even quicker than attaching the file to the email.
