This is the version of the Squeak Virtual Machine, which is  
independent of the Etoys version. You can see the Etoys version in the  
Etoys Home screen's About flap (or from the World's halo menu "about  
this system" item).

On the Mac we solved that confusion by showing both versions in the  
extended info dialog ("Etoys 4.0, VM 4.2.2b1").
