  Oh, thank you.  My direct family members are fine and they are only
taking a bit of inconvenience.  But given so many people are suffering
and we have not seen the enclosure of the whole events, it is little
comfort...

  For engineers and scientists types, and even for educator types,
unless you are going to the actual disaster site and help from there,
trying to make the world better place by pressing on your daily
business is one of the best things.  (Of course some monetary donation
to proper organization helps also^^;)
