 So I tried on both Joyride and 766 - I could not reproduce the problem
 mikus reported. It started. It proceeded to exhibit #8744 but that's a
 different problem.

 The log indicates a problem detected by rainbow:

 /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/rainbow/inject.py in check_cwd(uid=10024,
 gid=10027, cwd=dbus.UTF8String('/home/olpc/Activities/EPaati.activity'))

 Mikus, could you attach the output of "ls -laR
 /home/olpc/Activities/EPaati.activity" ?
