Have emailed Lili Cheng, the Creative Systems group director, to ask for a reference on the Kudo page.  Will update the issue as soon as a response is received.

Interestingly, Kudo is listed as a "Graphics and multimedia | Human-computer interaction | Software development" project, and NOT an educational or gaming project. The current educational projects in MSR are:
  - Collaborative web search
  - Conference mgmt services
  - Domestic 2.0: Constructing Ideas of the Family; Connecting and Partitioning the Domestic Space 
  - Microsoft Research ESL Assistant (for Word)
  - Research-Output Repository Platform (supporting a digital library)
  - Tools to aid in teaching ecology
  - WorldWide Telescope
Note that few are targeted at teachers or students.
