This bug was discovered by Stephen Thomas while writing Etoys manual.
  Steps to reproduce:
  1) Drag a playfield from the supplies bin
  2) Open the Viewer and in the "pen use" category change the [pen down] tile to true
  3) In the Basic Category fire [forward by] to have it move all the way up, changed value to negative and fired until all the way down.  RESULT: NO pen trails visible.
  4) Once I fire the [turn by] tile, the pen trails start to show.
