I confirm that the latest patch, hideHaloAfterDup-kfr.1.cs, fixes the bug seen when a Particles object is launched.  If Yoshiki agrees, we probably ought to push this further patch out sooner rather than later, because currently it's rather hard to recover from the error seen when launching Particles.
