Yes, this confusing double animation should dissapear, and the fix is very simple indeed.
I have a doubt: at 3.8 version objects doesn't die twice, and dissmissViaHalo and slideToTrash are the same, so the origin of the problem isn't here (this cs loaded at 3.8 make dissapear the animation at all -objects never die-). 
But probably NOW this is the best solution.
