I can verify that the bug described in this ticket does exist, and that Karl's fix seems to fix it.  More ideal would be something like we find in Squeak 3.9 where the halo reappears on the duplicated group, and subsequent clicks on the dup handle make more duplicates.  From that perspective, I would say that the fileout offered in the current ticket is more a workaround than an ideal fix -- but it's definitely better than the existing situation, so I recommend we go with the fix.
