Stephen Thomas commented on SQ-560:
-----------------------------------

Would be nice if you could "Script" the script playback, with timing controls.
For example I have observed kids watching the "Bouncing Ball Animation" http://squeakland.org/showcase/project.jsp?id=7421 and slowed down the "Ticking" to make the way it worked more obvious and this sometimes gets a reaction of "oh that's how it works". So it could be useful to facilitate learning of different Etoys techniques and help kids build models of how things work in the Etoys world.

> I have often seen students running into a problem with a script they wrote. By simply walking them through the script step by step they see the problem by themselves.
> So the proposed feature would have one or two modes:
> 1) Single Step - where on each click of the mouse (or some other queue) the Script Tile that is being executed is highlighted and the script pauses at that step until the next click/queue
> 2) Single Step through a Script - Where there is a "slow motion" execution of the script with scripting tiles being highlited as they execute
> 3) Single Step though "Go - The equivalent of Single Step through Script except all scripts that would run when you click "Go" from "All Scripts are walked through
