Regarding release notes, I said a "good raw list".  My meaning was it's a resource to create the "quick outline" for the more gentle intro. (Aka "raw").  This is what we talked about earlier, that Milan was working on.

I included the squeakland list in the "freeze" email in hopes of generating anticipation for the upcoming release.  You're right that it would have been better as a separate email that was better aimed at a general audience.

The account fields email did elicit useful responses, mostly from people that aren't on the etoys-dev.  I suspected as much, which is why I sent it to the general list.  Their suggestions have already been incorporated into the new sign in page.

People really just need to chill. We need to give each other the "benefit of the doubt", before trashing each other in print.

Knee-jerk "this is not the point" messages come off as sounding contentious, suggesting that our house is divided.  Ultimately, this is much more discouraging than a little extra technobabble in a message to a general audience.
