Being able to put things of varying widths in a Holder and have them line up in a column without having to play with the column width and possible add transparent objects would be nice.  The problems with column and row are:
1) once an object is in a Column/Row, you need to get its halo and pick it up to move it, with a holder you can click and drag to move, much simpler
2) the Columns/Row do not have a collection category in the viewer

By adding an attribute to holder it could behave (in terms of layout of objects and auto-resizing of the holder) like a column or row.
