The menu option "definition of word" has not worked for a long while. Essentially it works by scraping WordNet (1) search results, the format of which must have changed since this functionality was introduced to Squeak. The attached cs is a first attempt at a fix. AFAICT this is also the basis of menu option "verify spelling of word" and perhaps others. A sister project to WordNet is ImageNet (2) that stores on average 500 images per WordNet node (nouns only atm). Could be interesting to get all this linked up and working?
