Karl Ramberg commented on SQ-625:
---------------------------------

ScorePlayer actually is part of a system to write score music. Playing midi is one thing it does but not the main use. So I vote against changing the name.

The music making system needs TLC as many parts of the system does

> The MIDI score playing object is called "ScorePlayer". I spent some time looking for the MIDI player referred to by another user, until another user informed me that it is called "ScorePlayer". I think renaming the object will remove some confusion.
> Rationale:
> (1) Users (in the few instances I have seen) refer to the score player object as the MIDI player. Renaming it will make the object name correspond to how it is generally referred to.
> (2) As far as I can tell, it only plays MIDI scores (not sure if there is any other kind), so renaming it will more accurately describe what the object does
> (3) The other players (GStreamPlayer, MPEGPlayer) refer to specific formats, so renaming will make it consistent with the other players.
