In a stack with more than one page, it is sometimes impossible to get a thumbnail for more than one of the pages using the make thumbnail command. (The page sorter can show more than one thumbnail, but has its own bug, SQ-1172, that limits it to showing only one or two thumbnails.) The page returned by this command sometimes changes, but not in a way that the user can see how to control.

In a stack, click the menu button to get the Stack menu, then the bookish items... command to get the Stack / Book menu that contains the make thumbnail command.
