Assigning a sound effect for all pages or sound effect for this page only may result in a sound effect playing on page transitions, or may not. (Similarly for visual effects, to be reported separately.) Some pages in a book may be affected by assigning sound effects, while nothing happens for others. There seems to be some interaction with backgrounds, but if so it is erratic at best.

In a Stack, click the menu button to get the Stack menu, then click bookish items... to get the Stack / Book menu where both of these commands appear.
