What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Render an empty tableData, or send nil.
2. View page in Internet Explorer (any version)
3. Notice the table data will not be rendered

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Should see a blank td, but no td is rendered.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
latest seaside 2.8, platform is not relevant.

Please provide any additional information below.
If the tableData rendered ' ' instead of an empty string, the cell is
viewable in IE.
