Agreed having it on the filter is best. Except this doesn't work well with  
session. I
can't remember how we were proposing dealing with this with the  
authentication filter...

I don't like having it on WARequestHandlingConfiguration because it ends up  
being
there all the time even for handlers that don't have the filter (and the  
filter won't
*often* be added to other handlers, I don't expect).
