[Seaside] cross and tick in html?

I want to put a cross (x) or tick (you know what that is) next to my
list of questions to show which have been answered or not. I've just
painfully peered down the list of entity entries on the W3C website page
(I don't think I've seen any sites so difficult to extract sense from -
whata dismal advert for the web!) and can't find anything to use as a
simple character. Considering how many utterly obscure entities they do
support (capital Thorn, anyone?) I'm amazed.

Does anyone know of a nice clean way to do this, or do I really have to
use a stupid image link?
