Sigh. I'll have to split it up across even more parcels, probably. The upside
is that you have this trouble only once, now that's in your image you'll be
able to keep up :-)

Well, the 'more or less' is my port to blame, so I think we've solved the
StORE issue ;-)

port changeset and the Squeak changesets got mixed up (I tried to be careful,

It's probably the added overhead in the Wave code. VisualWave seems to try
very hard to be an awfully complete implementation of the HTTP spec. 

Squeak: '31558185 bytecodes/sec; 1059248 sends/sec'
VW:     '76738609 bytecodes/sec; 13855051 sends/sec'
