[Seaside] Empty Tags (#tag:)

Hi, I don't currently have access to a computer with Squeak or 
Comanche/Seaside but I have a question regardless:

The convenience method #tag: does it create "empty tags" which are do not 
close such as:
<hr>

or do they create "empty tags" which are self closing as described in the 
W3C HTML standard?
<hr />
