the sessions must have expired by now, so I did what you said and 
created a new session with the "new session" link, which should have 
expired the old sessions.

Then I waited about 10 min, presuming the GC had collected the expired 
sessions, and checked again:

WAStore allInstances size

and still got 4, 3 old ones + 1 new session.

This is all on a vanilla VWNC 7.3.1
