I think that what is really cruelly missing is a good library of  
pluggable components.
The community should consider that: this is REALLY important.

Right now you all recreate again and again the same widgets, it would  
be the time to share and
build a cool library. For me there are still far too much detail and  
work to build fast a simple
user interface for a dummy application managing list of stuff (like  
my comics collection).
