I switched to a2 after integrating a bunch of changes from this  
list.  It also has the AJAX/LiveRequest stuff broken out into a  
separate package (SeasideAsync).  But in general it's probably the  
one you should be using.  Anything truly experimental I do on named  
branches (Seaside2.somebranchname).
