[Seaside] Strange behaviour serving from Mac OS X 10.4.8

I am using Seaside2.6b1-lr.50 in Squeak3.9-7039 on PowerMac G5 and  
Mac Powerbook G4, OS X 10.4.8.

When I upgraded these machines to 10.4.8 a couple of weeks ago, a  
browser client experiences 'hung' behaviour when trying to access  
seaside apps -- that is, the URL access appears not to complete, as  
if the browser is waiting for the completion of the page download. If  
the user clicks the stop download button of the browser, the correct  
seaside-rendered page appears and seems to function properly. Every  
server access seems to require this stop-download.

I have only tested clients running Safari from Mac machines. Has  
anybody else experienced similar problems?
