You got the wrong package. SeaChart is discontinued as well as
CanvasGraph (actually the package only got renamed). What you want is
PlotKit-0.9.1. The web page actually says so ;-)

PlotKit-0.9.1-mb.27 should work fine in Seaside 2.8 (),
PlotKit-0.9.1-pmm.28 definitively works fine in Seaside 2.8.
