Squeak... No Sound

I took a look at the Abuse sound server yesterday.  This is a simple
program that plays sounds in the background by means of shared memory
and a pipe.  It's not very elegant but it _is_ asychronous and does
work on a number of Unix platforms (including Linux).  Source for
Abuse is available off of http://www.crack.com.

If linux sound doesn't happen soon, I may well try to do something to
fix it, but I don't have the time or expertise (with audio) to do it,
really.
