Hi, I need to be able to make, modify and create byte arrays.  How do I go about
doing this?  I hope this does not involve creating a whole bunch of pluggable
primitives.

I looked at the ByteArray class but it was a bit too abstract to manipulate.  Is
there some class I don't know about yet?  BTW, this byte array has to be
serializable...  I need to send this byte array through a socket.
