There has been a blizzard of changesets published for the Slang 
compiler and plugin code generation systems, resulting in large part 
from a flurry of activity (and hence great bug reports) on various 
fronts.  Thanks to everyone for their excellent help and suggestions, 
particularly Stephan Rudlof.

For the convenience of those who have not been keeping current, I 
have compiled recently posted changes into a single changeset, which
