Glenn -- I agree with you, and I was not trying to make a quantitative
comparison; just indicate that there is a need to look at the Squeak
performance under X. We had a simialr problem with BeSqueak (BeOS  port of
Squeak), but have been able to make significant improvements in that port.
The BeOS is also one of those systems that is not "BitBlt friendly".
