Anyone aware of or have suggestions for a port to VMS

Try grabbing one of the Unix ports and recompile it under VMS (Alpha or
VAX).  You'll need to have DecWindows, DEC's version of X-Windows, on your
build machine so you can pick up the appropriate headers but I wouldn't
expect it to be too difficult to get a basic Squeak system running.  IIRC
VMS sockets are pretty much standard, so the Unix code might work without
tweaking.  Good luck.
