Well, OK, if you actually meant just a VM optimisation, like I said it's
doable. But I'd consider below the line of stuff worth the effort by
comparison to other VM improvements. Just don't let anyone know about it
and end up with ++ as a message!

You can almost always make cases for special case instructions / data-paths
/ widgets in any field. Sometimes they end up being worth it, sometimes
they just overcomplicate life. Sometimes they are good, sometimes they are
like MMX instructions.... I've always tended more to the RISC end of that
continuum. For a reality check, see the randomly chosen sigline my machine
chose to give me!
