In the context of the speech synthesis project, I have recentrly changed the way diphones are stored in disk. Now I am using ImageSegments... well actually not ImageSegments but their two primitives. Now it is faster and much simpler. I am so happy! ImageSegments are so cool!! I love Squeak!
