2.5 image/changes problem

The image has been stable for quite some time -- it is possible, 
indeed likely,that your download or installation of the changes file 
was somehow corrupted.

It is ESSENTIAL that you load it in binary mode, and that you 
decompact it (if compressed) with options that do not change line 
endings.

It is a common error for users to download the file or decompact them 
with a program that changes line-endings, either by shifting CR to 
NL, or to CRLF.  This will not work, period.

If this doesn't fix your problem, you might tell us more about your hardware.
