This is a good example of the consequences of the 'New Jersey'(*) school of
design,
a classic example of the point of view discussed in:

   http://www.ai.mit.edu/docs/articles//good-news/subsection3.2.1.html

which is both one of the most accurate and depressing of essays.

   ...Tom M

(*)For international readers, a US geographic insult. I am sure everybody's
city has one of these;
the unfortunate nearby location which is the butt of jokes, location of fat
rendering
plants, home of imbeciles, etc.
