That's true...It 'clicked' for me when I re-read the Qt/E FAQ. :)
Still, you could rewrite things to use pure Qt drawing primitives instead of 
Xlib, if one was feeling masochistic enough. :)  I guess making a raw 
framebuffer port would do the trick much better.
