There's still some refactoring required (when is that not true?) and I'd like to
get some kind of import tool working to use predefined skins available on the
Internet.

This set of code works with V2.8a and the latest set of updates.  I have not
tried it with earlier versions.

Hope this gives someone some great creative ideas...
