No. Squeak draws everything (lines, menus, buttons, windows, etc.) itself
on a single bitmap screen which is shown in one single host window.
It might be possible with some changes to the VM to allow more than one
screen which would be a first step towards the goal to have separate OS
windows.

IMHO, whether it's a SDI or MDI applications isn't as important as that
Squeak's widgets look and feel completely different as for example Windows
or Linux/KDE. If you worry about user acceptance, I'd worry about that,
not SDI/MDI ;-)

Just a few days ago, Scott Wallace (I think) posted something about
stripping end-use-applictions on this list. You might want to go to
www.egroups.com/group/squeak for an archive of this list and search for
that article.

...and while you're looking at egroups, search also for Dan's last report
about shrinking the development image (without Morphic, Sound and all other
bells and whistles) to less than 800K.
