Cocoa is *not* being ported to Java.

Yup.  A Unix-based OO system that is very close to Smalltalk.  So  
close that messaging between them is fairly easy (apart from the  
difficulty of any messaging *into* Squeak), and even sharing the same  
runtime for both native and Squeak objects wouldn't bee too hard  
with only a couple of tweaks, some trivial, some not quite so  
trivial.

Anyway, the port has been done and has been available for  
MacOS-X-Server for a couple of years now.  It's also been moved  
forward to MacOS-X (DP4), with the newest codebase running  
identically on both.
