Actually, let me clarify:

If we host on Sourceforge, their CVS server can handle symlinks. It's
just that those links won't get created on checkout, anyway (even under
Unix).

If you have your own CVS repository (vs. using the Sourceforge CVS
server
via SSH), it would matter whether your OS has symlinks.

The usual method of operation via Sourceforge is to have your CVS client
login to and connect with the Sourceforge CVS server. This can be done
for read-only access anonymously, or for read/write access via SSH.

Also, I'm guessing that Andreas Raab isn't using gcc for ALL the windoze
platforms (especially Windows/CE).
