Sometimes the idea isn't stupid.  Just not original.

Thanks for cleaning this up and making a more general version.  I'll look at the code
later today, hopefully.

My first reaction to taking setup parameters away from individual documents makes me
wonder where a better control point would really be.  I suspect the most elegant would
allow a general setup and then refined variations at the user's choice anywhere out
the branches.

Putting it on a per document basis (like I did) is the most extreme.  Project level
setup could be a good choice for override.
