[BUG][UNIX] 2.8pre3 display depth of 32 doesn't work.

In the 2.8pre3 version (rpm called Squeak-2.8-3) from Ian Piumarta's site,
the display depth of 32 doesn't work. Changing to 32 bpp causes the screen
to go black. This works in the other images I'm using (compiled from
Sourceforge).
Changing to 16bpp works.

I'm using XFree86 3.3.6 on RedHat Linux with a relatively new kernel.
