Welcome to Squeak! After playing around with Squeak for awhile, you'll find that it is possible to have a powerful development environment which still takes beginners seriously. (Basic is also great for beginners, but is definitely not something you can grow with, as you can with Squeak. You might not want to build an IDE or VM with Basic, either. ;) )
