How about putting up also a Preferences window on the start screen for 3.0?
This is a good way to get an idea of at least some things you can do.

And as it is the organization of the World menu is horrific. Preferences as
well as code updates under Help? I think this is a good way to ensure that
many newcomers won't find them.

I'll volunteer to reorg it for 3.0 if it will be included.
