Then shall we smite them from the face of the Earth; for they shall be
called misguided. Yea verily, it is past time that we dropped this silly
nonsense and just allowed file streams to be told 'boolean' or 'ascii'
etc. Or even allow them to comprehend requests to behave as Mac lineend,
or DOS  lineend and so on; then it would be easy to read a file
according to local rules and write to any rule. Useful for VMMaker when
generating unix srcs on a Mac, for example.
