User Manual

Hello all!

I have started writing a User Manual for Squeak, since I think that is
sorely needed.

The first part first version is done, and a html-version of it can be seen
on my site as:

http://www.xs4all.nl/~maartens/log_comp/User_Manual_part1_version0_in_html.htm

It is about 73 Kb in html, and should make quite a few things a lot easier
for newbies, and does so in a little time.

Also, the html will be made available soon as Squeak project, and will be
extended and updated soon, both in html on my site and as Squeakproject.

Comments and criticisms are appreciated (if rational) and will be politely
responded to, but I'd like to receive them off-list, for I am on this list
only as far as the digest is concerned (and don't have the time or health
for protracted discussions with many bitstreams).

Also, any suggestions concerning topics to be treated are received with
thanks and will be seriously considered at the very least. (But I do have
my own style of writing, and my own manner of treatment. You are completely
free to disagree, and are indeed invited to write a User Manual too, for
the more good User Manuals the better.)

When I have important updates to, or corrections or extensions of my User
Manual I will tell the list.

There will be some 15 or 20 parts like the present, and like the present
these will go through several revisions before I consider them final.

And a message to Stephane Ducasse, en francais:

Merci beaucoup pour le materiel de Wolczko! Malheureusement, son these

Regards,

Maarten.
