I have taken the patch and integrated into into my just updated latest
SF version (but I haven't committed anything yet of course).

The changes where indeed minimal. So I have a spanking new full internal
VM at a whopping 2.3Mb and running my little test it looks good. Now I
will use this VM for a while and get back to you in a few days.
