It would seems that "zaurus" is Japanese for "doohicky", because Sharp
attached that to a rather wide range of marginally related handhelds.
Those other systems use WinCE or OS/9 or something, while the US model has
some wierd variant of Multics ;) . 

All the pointers you should need are on the swiki at
http://minnow.cc.gatech.edu/squeak/2688 . This is merely a duct tape job,
and requires quite a few clicks to start up the VM. There are quite a few
caveats that go with it, like the total inability to type in [blocks]. 

Before you build a native VM, be aware that the free QTopia SDK is
available for *GPL* use. The commercial use SDK costs $200 USD.
